Nodaway Chorale Holiday rehearsals begin Sept 16th

The Nodaway Chorale begins rehearsals on September 16th for their December Holiday Concert.
Executive Director for the Nodaway Chorale, Jim Rash, says everyone is invited to participate.

"It is a non-profit.  It is secular.  It's non-audition which means that everybody is singing for love and passion for music.  You don't try out for it at all.  We have singers ranging from high school and university students up through retired people and everything in between."

Rash also says that this year's concert music will be highly varied.

"We'll be doing holiday music obviously, some traditional, some contemporary.  We'll be doing a touch of classical with some Vivaldi.  We're actually doing a song from Peter, Paul & Mary.  We're doing one from the movie Holiday Inn.  And we're doing a humorous one in there along with traditional ones that people expect at the holiday time.  Actually the Peter, Paul & Mary song, the text of it, is the one that we're doing that relates to Hanukah.  And the Kwanzaa song is the one called African Celebration. For recognizing that the holidays in December are varied as much as our singing is varied."

Rehearsals will be every Monday starting on the 16th, at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 South Main Street in Maryville. The Maryville Chorale Holiday Concert will be December 15th.
